Accessibility Statement

Last reviewed: 18 June 2026 · Next review: 18 December 2026

This statement applies to content published on neuro-kids-space.co.uk and the NeuroKids parent and child applications. NeuroKids is operated by Linked2Link Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales.

NeuroKids is designed to be used by neurodivergent children (autism, ADHD, SEN), their parents, therapists and school SENCOs. We are committed to making the platform usable by everyone, regardless of disability or assistive technology.

How accessible NeuroKids is

NeuroKids has been built to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA based on an internal audit conducted in June 2026. Specifically:

  • All interactive elements are keyboard-accessible and have visible focus indicators.
  • The Kids view supports a high-contrast theme and a reduced-motion preference.
  • AAC pictograms use OpenSymbols (CC BY-SA) with descriptive text labels.
  • Audio activities (calm corner, story reader) include captions and on-screen text.
  • The app honours the user's OS-level font-size and reduced-motion settings.
  • Form errors are announced to screen readers via ARIA live regions.
  • Colour contrast meets WCAG AA (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text).

Known limitations

The following are partially conformant and on our roadmap:

  • A small number of legacy chart visualisations rely on colour alone — being replaced with patterned variants Q3 2026.
  • Some user-generated AAC custom symbols may lack alt text — we're prompting carers for descriptions on upload.
  • Video celebration clips generated by AI currently lack captions — auto-captioning ships Q4 2026.

How we tested this site

  • Automated scans using axe-core 4.x in CI on every pull request.
  • Manual keyboard-only testing on Chrome, Safari and Firefox.
  • Screen reader testing with VoiceOver (macOS, iOS) and NVDA (Windows).
  • Reduced-motion preference verified in macOS, iOS and Android system settings.

Reporting accessibility problems

If you find content that isn't accessible, or you need information in an alternative format (large print, easy read, accessible PDF, audio, braille):

We aim to respond within 5 working days. If your request needs a Subject Access Request (UK GDPR Article 15), we will respond within 1 calendar month.

Enforcement

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) or the Information Commissioner's Office where the accessibility issue affects your personal data rights.

Technical specification
